N. John Yousif, M.D.

Dr. John Yousif has been in practice in the Milwaukee area since 1986. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and holds additional certifications in hand surgery.

Dr. Yousif attended medical school at the University of Brussels in Belgium. He completed his internship at Moneton City Hospital in New Brunswick Canada and his general surgery residency at Wilmington Medical Center in Wilmington Delaware. Dr. Yousif completed his formal training with a Plastic Surgery Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin along with a hand and microsurgery fellowship. Upon completing his fellowship, he was invited to join the teaching staff at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Yousif entered private practice in 1997, though he remains active in the teaching of Plastic Surgery as Clinical Professor at the Medical College. He has published and presented numerous scientific articles related to plastic surgery in the United States and abroad. In addition, Dr. Yousif has received several awards and honors for his research and has pioneered many new techniques in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

World Expert in Facial Aging & Facial Rejuvenation

Dr. Yousif is credited with being the first in the world to describe the association of midface descent with gravity and the nasolabial fold, which was published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as "The Nasolabial Fold: A Photogrammetric Analysis." This was awarded the the Aestheic Asociations "Best Paper" of that year. Additionally, he was the first to use the Gortex Midface Lift which he has performed for the last 12 years. He has been mentioned in Allure Magazine as an expert in facial aging and in the book written by Allure's cosmetic surgery editor on Face lifts. He has won the Societiy of Plastic Surgery's award for "Best Reasearch Paper" twice. He contnues to publish on facial anaotmy and facal surgery. He has been mentioned by Allure Magazine as on of the world experts on facial aging.

Neck Lift

Dr Yousif continues to explore the anatomic basis of facial aging. Most recently he has presented the work that he and his collegues are doing on the neck, its anatomy and the issues related to aging. He is also in the process of publishing his technique for the treatment of the the aging neck. This technique provides more natural and long lasting results. Advancements in Breast Reconstruction

Dr. Yousif was the first surgeon in the world to describe and use the medial thigh gracilis flap for breast reconstruction, aslo known as the TUG Flap. He was also the first in Wisconsin to perform a microvascular free TRAM for breast reconstruction. Breakthroughs in Hand Surgery

Dr. Yousif is certified in Hand Surgery and he along with an associated team were the first in the world to perform a replant of a hand that had been amputated at three levels.

Dr. Yousif was part of the team that was first in the world to describe and use the occipital flap for male pattern hair loss.

The Beautiful Tummy Tuck (The Mommy Tuck)

The youthfull abdomen has a beautiful shape, it is not flat or board like. Most surgical proceudures that correct the laxity of the tummy are done after the tummy has been stretched by prenancy. In those cases the underyling muscle is also stretched and spread apart. Dr Yousif has published his technique for tightening the stretched muscles of the post partum tummy which creates and shapes the tummy back to and sometimes better than its pre pregnancy shape, giving it that beauiful, youthful shape that those beautiful babies took away.
