Mid Face Lift
This procedure is intended to lift the cheeks back to their youthful position which decreases the depth of the nasolabial folds (skin around the nose and mouth) as well as improves hallowing under the eyes.
Anesthesia and Surgery Facility
General anesthesia is the recommended approach. This is usually an outpatient procedure. Operative time is approximately 3 hours.
Side Effects
There is expected temporary bruising and swelling.
Risks
These include infection, bleeding, poor healing, excessive scarring and asymmetry.
Recovery
Return to work or social environments is usually 2 to 4 weeks. Avoidance of more strenuous activity is recommended for 4 to 6 weeks. Total recovery from bruising and generalized swelling may to anywhere 2 to 4 weeks. Limiting sun exposure is recommended for one year.
Duration of Results
Most individuals enjoy the results for at least 10 years.
