Facial structuring can be referred to by different names but it is essentially adding volume to the face to regain the face's structure and shape. This can be done in the office with various types of fillers or it can be done in the operating room by typically adding the patient's own fat. There are advantages ad disadvantages to each method.
In office procedures are simple and take relatively little time. Most current fillers can also be dissolved or injected away if the result is not exactly what the patient likes. However, most fillers dissolve over time and the procedure needs to be repeated every-so-often; usually 1-2 years.
Fat injection is usually done in the operating room so the process is more complicated however, most studies have shown that 40% of the fat injected lasts forever. So even though fat injection may be more costly at first, over time it may be come more cost efficient.
